 Perhaps luckily for this bird, his white markings look like the dappling effect from sunlight filtering through branches. However, when he moved, he really stood out. |
 This is probably the same bird that Tom Mansfield photographed on 2007-04-05, (2nd and 3rd photos, above) though it should have gone through a complete molt between the two dates. |

 This bird had a notably red tail (generally a field mark for "sooty" Fox Sparrows, but this guy's was really red. 2008-01-24. This is the same bird as the left photo. |
