a) BirdLoop: Eastside Audubon is hopeful they can acquire a
large number of native plants from a plant salvage, scheduled soon, with the
idea these plants can go around the viewing mound.
b) Garden Loosestrife Control Project: Norah said she would
try to get us a status update
c) Community Gardens: All-but-final 2012 donations to the
food bank: 6507 pounds! Sam remains president of MCGA. Fall clean-up party
last weekend went well. A new gate was installed at the off-leash entrance
to the Memorial Pet Garden, which should allow better access to the Pet
Garden from the dog area, while also providing better loose dog exclosure.
Parks is pricing wrought iron to go in the gaps in the stone wall that
separates the Pet Garden from the Community Gardens.
d) Sammamish Rowing Association Boathouse: Building is almost
ready for "hibernation", with windows and doors installed, and with complete
Tyvek cover. See http://sammamishrowing.org/newboathouse
e) Lighting Projects: Slowed only by shortage of
electricians: Cottage driveway - Repair two. MacNair Field -
Install three. North athletic fields - proposed between Subway and
soccer complex. Tennis Court - pole damaged 2012/10/07, repairs
underway.
f) Clise Mansion: New management company has been contracted to
take over rentals of the mansion. A section of the floor has needed
leveling, and that work will be done November 5-9, using leveling jacks.
Some windows will temporarily be removed to prevent cracking.
g) Velodrome Restroom Pump: On the blink. Will be repaired before
Cirque du Soleil in December.
h) ADA Parking: Evaluation of need has been expanded to additional
parks, and may take a while. Within Marymoor, they have boosted maintenance,
cleaning, and marking of existing spots, including on gravel parking lots.
