Other board members present; Bill Illi

The following items were discussed:

Alexandra Scott presented information on the PET recycling program, which has been approved. Information as to where the receptacles will be placed and the required participation of park group users will be added to the Marymoor web site.

Karl Kostal shared updates on the status of the following items:

  1. Electrical upgrades will be completed by June 1st
  2. Ball fields (noted that the soccer field west of the velodrome will not be available this summer. (There are 8 ball fields and 11 soccer fields in the park.)
  3. Platform on the lake. (This is not a floating dock.) Project is scheduled for this summer.
  4. Bathroom and new shop project is on hold at this time.

Golf driving range. Greg Conley, and his father, Chuck, presented a suggestion for a golf driving range. They had past experience in this area and felt it could provide income for the park if it could be built. A lease with revenue sharing was suggested. A short discussion was had in regards to the possible site and how it might impact the park. They have been invited back to offer more information in the future. In the event that a project of this type would be approved, it was estimated that it would take one year to complete. A point was made that it could cause some parking problems as well as park entry and exit problems if put in one of the areas suggested

Special events and concessions: presented by Anne Lipe.

“Disney Tunes” Around August 4th. Would possibly bring in 1,600 to 1,800 children.

Concession trailer. A small trailer that would be in the park that would have various types of sports equipment available. Not certain whether this equipment is rental or not. Contact Anne for more information on this as well as on the Disney Tunes.

There was a lot of discussion in regards to the park closing issues. Greg Helland will be getting out a plea E mail to all user groups to invite them to a special meeting to be held at the Clise Mansion in Marymoor park in the evening of May 29th.
